  1. MAIN Function J - Join Conference
  2.  
  3. This command provides you access to RBBS-PC's Conferences and Sub-Boards.
  4. A Conference is a separate message area, usually focused on a single topic.
  5. A Sub-Board is an entire BBS within the main BBS, with its own message
  6. base, file catalogs, and possibly even a different SysOp.  However, the
  7. Join command works the same for Conferences and Sub-Boards.
  8.  
  9. You will be presented with a list of conferences after you enter the "J"
  10. command.  The sub-options available with the join command are:
  11.  
  12.    L)ist  - show the list of conferences available
  13.    M)ain  - go back to the main message area (abandon conferences)
  14.    N)ext  - join the next linked conference
  15.    S)ince - link conferences together with new mail since you were
  16.             last in them and join the first one
  17.    P)ers  - link conferences together with new personal mail for you
  18.             and join the first one
  19.    or name - type in name of specific conference
  20.    Q)uit  - terminate the join command and go back to main menu
  21.  
  22. Pressing Enter also exits the conference command.

  24. TIPS:
  25. 1.  RBBS-PC offers both public and private teleconferencing capabilities.
  26.     Private conferences and Sub-Boards will have unique entry requirements
  27.     which you will have to meet before being allowed to join.

  29. 2.  To go from any conference back to the MAIN message area, use the QUIT
  30.     CONFERNECE (Q C) command, or use the JOIN command to join the MAIN
  31.     Conference (J M).

  33. 3.  You can go directly from the Main Menu into a conference by entering
  34.     "J" and the conference name.  For example, you could enter the "GAMES"
  35.     conference with the following command:  "J GAMES".
  36.  
  37. 4.  You will not see a list of available conferences if you enter the
  38.     Conference System while in the Expert Mode.  Enter an "L" to get the
  39.     conference list.
  40.  
  41. 5.  You can perform a valuable service by using the comment or message
  42.     functions to suggest teleconference topics to the SYSOP.
